  1. Eleven-year software developer here. Leetcode tests do not resemble on-the-job software engineering in any meaningful way. The day-to-day experience of software rests in finding bugs and making modest changes to existing products. Even the occasional greenfield project involves straightforward business logic. Finding the ideal algorithm for a specific task is a once-in-a-while situation, and most of the time this is done for developing libraries.
