  8. Eric Clapton's cover of "I Shot the Sheriff" is far and away better than Bob Marley's. Joe Cocker simply annexed "Feelin' All Right," "The Letter," "With a Little Help From My Friends," and "Unchain My Heart." And ELO's cover of "Roll Over Beethoven" is one of the best covers ever.

  11. There's a reason "everyone" gets the meaning of "Closing Time" wrong. The lyrics don't support the meaning that the writer claims for it. And, um, it's been known for some time that Phil Collins wrote "In the Air Tonight" about his then-wife's infidelity. And I don't know anybody who thought "Born in the USA" was intended to be patriotic.
