  1. The strategic error made by Intel was their failure to get into the mobile market. Whether this was by choice or inability makes no difference. The mobile market had volume sales that even Intel could only dream about, which mean more profits for R&D. ARM designs got better and better. Eventually they hit the B 'N' B sweet spot (better and cheaper) and with ARM desktop systems, the sun will now begin to set on the x86 era.
