ICE's are priced the way they are because: at least in Ford's case, they lose $130,000 for every EV they sell. The ICEs are priced that high to subsidize the EV market. Some of the cost of the EVs are added to the cost of the ICEs. Couple that with the fact that every time the Fed prints more dollars to lend to Congress, the value of the dollar goes down and the cost of goods go up and you end up with this vicious cycle of inflated prices and wages too low to afford the inflated prices.
