If they do save more than $2000, it is counted against their income. That amount was set in 1975 and was not tied to inflation, so it has remained that amount despite the inflation that has gone on these 50 years. To put that in perspective; in 1975 and in the 1980's one could purchase a pretty good used automobile for $500 and drive it several years before needing to purchase another one. Today, the same used automobile will cost at least $1500. Add to that $1500 the down payment for insurance and any necessary repairs the vehicle may need and you are well past that $2000. So if a person on SSI needs an automobile to do something like, oh I don't know, maybe get a job and back to work; that person cannot afford the auto and not only cannot get back to work, cannot afford to get back to work. That by the way, is how the marxist left has been solving problems for over 50 years in the United States. They claim to be helping people, and then, they put obstacles in the way, that harms the people they claim to be helping.

If the US was literally the wealthiest country in the world, the US would not be over 30 trillion dollars in debt. Ask a rich person. No rich person puts themselves further in debt, than their assets can comfortably pay off. In addition, a wise rich person will not go into debt unless that debt purchases assets that will pay off the debt. There are those that say the US is already bankrupt as a result of excess spending.

I say, arrest the activists and charge them with; 1) Levying war against the United States. 2) Adhering to the enemies of the United States giving them aid and comfort. If they are currently holding political office charge them with: 3) Failing to fulfill their Constitutional obligation to support and uphold the Constitution of the United States. 4) Dereliction of duty. 5) Corruption of office. 6) Abuse of power.
