  1. This war is totally unwinnable, neither side can possibly win, sending tanks etc across there is only going to prolong the inevitable and help increase the casualty list on both sides. Without negotiation this will last for years or escalate out of control.

  7. 100% correct, for some 8 years Western governments knew this war was inevitable yet sat on their hands and done practically nothing to prevent it, in fact some Western governments encouraged it. No one is innocent but some are more guilty than others.
