hearing stxy talk about my country's politics is the most amusing and adorable thing I've seen him do yet and his analisis on it is pretty good too.

@Brian Puckett perhaps it's so you know when people are making fun of you or trying to insult you so you are aware of potential danger, it almost always comes down to a natural survival motivation when in a new situation which is the case when you visit another country, you don't know the language or customs so it's good to know the danger markers first.

you do realise about 80% of the dutch population speaks english as a second language, even better than most in the UK and rest of Europe, soooooo

@VVabsa african slave trade is only talked about to get shekkels for african nations and suriname, why? because they are quite poor and this is an easy way to make money, same with african american activists in the USA.

@stephj9378 what bad moves? you mean the slave trade? was not that big of a part of our economy, more so trading, capitalism, intelectual work, technology and coffiebeans and sugar from plantations in colonies, though we were very mild compared to say the french or south americans.
4
@VVabsa except we were the most mild compared to other colonial powers, for example we did not force the indonesian language to be destroyed like what happened with the french colonies, no the real reason is money, victimhood status is a big money maker for these countries and if they can get shekkels from the past it's good for them, that's why.

@VVabsa now lets see if youtube will censor this comment because it does not like hearing the truth very much these days. edit : still can't quite figure out what the youtube gods find problematic, they realy are overprotective of african americans and very anti European, well most of big tech is realy.

@VVabsa Colonialism was not that great of a system but I am getting kinda tired of this mythof us exploiting them to the extreme and that therefor they deserve compensation, it's just victimhood nonsense and in fact such additudes are holding them back, look at nations that were former colonies that don't have that kind of additude they are way better off, something to reflect on.

progressive? compared to the UK and Sweden?

@burdmann24.7 why thank you.

@stephj9378 yes, bought mostly from local warlords and most of them send to south america, im not saying it did not happen just that it was not that big of a deal as some people think it was, was not even that profitable.
1
@stephj9378 kinda weird then that Germany is the biggest economy in Europe while never realy having much of a colonial empire.
1
@stephj9378 not sure what you mean, it's mostly in the USA around parts of new york (which used to be new Amsterdam) and parts of Pennsylvania where a lot of dutch people settled their, however many dutch names can sound german and a lot of germans used to settle the USA and so they might become mixed with english to sound very english-german-dutch while being from one or the other.

@stephj9378 ohhh yeah they had a few bits and pieces of Africa and parts of asia which they got from france during the franco-prussian wars but they had them for like 50-/+ years or so before losing them in ww1 and they won them after they had gotten rich and powerfull

@stephj9378 slavery was more usefull in classical history when labor was based on human bodies when technology started catching up it mostly became a burden for greater prosperity, it's why the south during the US civil war was more rural and more poor than the north and why south america is still more poor compared to Europe or north america. Slavery still exists today but it's mostly in prostitution and as cheap labor used in factories and sweatshops in 3rd world countries, though it's more like serfdom than historical slavery with buying and selling of people, though we still call some slaves due to the nature of it. Geopgraphy also plays a big roll in how a nation develops, Africa has very few deep water ports and few rivers, where as Europe while much smaller has more rivers, man made canals and more overal shoreline that's spread both further and deeper than most people think, many land locked nations within Europe have access to the sea via canals and special agreements.

@stephj9378 yes many german bankers existed, same in austria and northern italy. Also don't forget that France and the UK had a lot of wars while the German kingdoms were left alone and only very slowly started to unify as a single block, Bismarck was the great uniter of Germany and when you think about it the creation of this nation called germany is quite amasing when you look at how many different kingdoms, dukes and what not existed before.

@stephj9378 because the benefits were quite minimal and the downsides very large, who do you think runs Suriname now and how do you think they are running it? While also demanding more gibs every year while also demanding we change certain traditions because some people or the UN finds it offensive. Screw that noise, just tired of dealing with grifters and victimhood beggers, also it's insulting because the Netherlands actualy created early capitalism and had great scientific minds and thinkers which is all going down the drain to promote this nonsense about history. Yes I take it personally, because I have had to deal with this nonsense for decades and continue to this day. I don't blame you or anything just tired of this myth being ever present in today's society.

mostly muslims and they and the rest aren't going to vote conservative when the left gives them so many freebies on the backs of actual conservatives.
