  4.  @TheColemancreek  not realy, they still have a coastline to the east of cremea, might not be as advanced or strategic but the whole warm water ports in the black sea makes little sense to me since that's closed off by turkey. The amount of money lost because of sanctions also seems to bring more of a loss then any real gains, the real reason seems to be that most of cremea is russian and allowing ukraine to ethnic cleanse and abuse the Russians there might make Putin seem weak and unnationalistic. The troops present there were already there before the whole coup in ukraine backed by the west and most people there voted in favor of joining Russia, does not seem like a violent and militaristic annexation to me, it's all pretty lawfull and logical considering the situation. Still Russia probably did their best to make it happen to a degree but the amount of demonisation and counter arguments to the joining of the russian federation seems a bit odd. Russia does not appear to be a enemy of the west, mostly it's the west that's fearmongering, USA demanding more NATO contributions, meanwhile the state of Israel gets to realy annex the golan hights but nobody cares about that, USA wages war on syria, nobody cares, now Iran, how is Russia the great evil of the world right now?
