  1. To be fair modi and Trump have the same kind of platform, modi is seen as a more Hindu nationalist leader (to the horror of leftists in the west) which kinda reflects Trumps america first policy, also the USA needs india to be hostile to China, though it's unclear how well that will last.

  2.  @vla1ne  partly I agree but for every Trump you get a Erdogan or a Mugabe. Boris Johnson is perhaps the weakest and least nationalistic of the three mentioned, he wants more migration from africa and the middle-east, he is not a real nationalist. Modi on the otherhand wants a strong India, so does Bolsanaro in Brazil, yet they might look the same, talk the same, have some of the same policies does not mean their outcomes will be the same. Likewise in Europe i think we are seeing the end of the waves of nationalism that want to separate from the EU and more internal subversion of the EU now that they have more representation in the EU parlement. If they don't reform then the nationalists might start rising again to separate in my opinion.
