  4. People say the same about the USA, you know what the difference is between the EU and USA? The USA had the benefit of not having any existential enemies around.

We actually lost everything, our empires, our cultures, our languages, the USA gets all the benefits of the global dollar, economic privilages and the ability to wage war on other nations or drag their "allies" into lots of lovely new wars and bring lots of diversity and refugees. It is my firm belief that Europe won't be free untill the US empire is kicked out of Europe. If it weren't for Russia keeping NATO alive, it be gone years ago.

  8. I don't see how it can't be done, most young people are open to the idea as national governments fail to solve global issues and further evolution of the EU is likely to make things better not worse, though they try from time to time.

  12. It has to work since NATO is dysfunctional and we have no other means to push back against US foreign policy or China's military and economic power, let alone rising powers like India. Ideally we would have to use english as a standard language for troops and commanders, it's easier to teach people english then it is to learn many different languages.

  13. Somehow we were willing to pay billions for centuries to keep our own militaries and use them often but for some reason when the USA came in, took power and forced it's vision upon the world, suddenly we felt less inclined to support them in their plans, funny that?

  14. ​ @scottroxford5715  not really, geography is on the US side for sure but just having guns aren't as good against many high tech weapons, it's best advantage is the threat of violence by the people on their own turf and acts of sabotage. The US navy is the real threat, can't wage any sort of war if you can't even come close. Also any war between the US and EU would basically fall on the Russians to do most of the fighting and bleeding, because a full front attack and invasion of Europe would be as hard to pull off as a European invasion of the US mainland, at best you could land on the UK, Iceland and some small islands that are hard to defend but if any sort of EU army had a decent watch of the coasts it be too costly for the USA to take it like D-day. It ain't 1945 anymore, USA is strong because of it's economy and naval power projection but as a police force, in a large scale war im not sure if the USA would be willing or able to fight like that again. Europe sucks right now but who knows where things are 10-20 years from now?
