@Mirisme I don't see a lot of difference between the nazi's and manifest Destiny in the USA, plus the nazi's tried to raise birthrates to create population explosion to settle the lands they took, is it horrifying? Yes, is it cruel? Yes, is it practical if your goal is to expand your land long term? Yes, just look at the USA.

@f3tsch906 his ideology was very goal orriented, take land for Germany, kill locals, replace them with german settlers or mix them with locals. Where as Stalin and communists in general were ideologically driven and killed people for not being true to communism, slightly more wealthy and caused so many famines that killed everyone.

@f3tsch906 well most people think the nazi's killed everyone in ww2 or were the most cruel people in all of history and that's just not very accurate, he just uses the numbers as an example to doubt that idea, truth is we don't know for sure how high the deathcount or how high the birthrates would have been long term, even the general ost plan was not as clear cut as people think, one of the sources of it is the massuese of Himler and a conversation he had about potential ideas of resettlement. Point is nothing is just black and white and history is more complicated then people think, because people are complicated and so are their goals and ideas

@f3tsch906 well that's funny because most people and some historians would praise Gengis khan while demonizing hitler as the prime evil of humanity, intelectuals would praise communism and make excuses for mao, stalin and polpot or not even mention them at all, most documentaries are focused on ww2 and the nazi's very few focus on the jappanese or the soviet style camps, famines and genocide, including of jewish people btw by stalin. point is you say althistory is bad because he does not condem them all equally but nobody els seems to do that as well and they don't even look at the numbers to begin with, they don't even make a scale or attempt to make a scale. people today treat hitler like napoleon was remembered back in the day, I don't like depicting people as inhumane monsters despite their best efforts to be like that, that does not make them good or oke, it just makes them human with flaws, good and bad sides and evil vs nessisary evil, because lets face it if you want to expand your borders and take over Europe or the world, people gonna die, that's just how it is, same for the USA, China and every other future super power, violence is just the key to all things within power politics, wealth, riches, influence, technology, it all means nothing if you don't have violence on your side as a power.

@f3tsch906 the problem with that argument is at some point you run out of people and most of the killing by the nazi's started when they started to lose the war, so again we don't know for sure what would have happened, the issue with communism is that it has failed, over and over and over again with each the same types of results yet there are still people who consider it a good ideology, millions even, that's a true danger not a handfull of people saying ''hey this fascism stuff does not seem so bad compared to communism'' and there are studies that back up that most people today when asked would vote in favor of many of the policies Hitler had enforced. also your reducing his argument to just the numbers, the numbers are just one example of how we demonize one side while making excuses for another which poses a much greater threat and has more power today then any neo-fascist or neo-nazi organisation today, so what are we even talking about? il check out that channel you mentioned but im not sure if im going to like it.

@f3tsch906 well, Im willing to admit im biased but when I see someone that has a political bias and it shows it makes me distrust them a lot on all subjects, they could be right on some subjects but I just don't trust them.

@jacobw2573 in terms of government structure, policies, outcomes and enemies they are quite the same, the only real difference is fascism still maintains some form of market mechanics, while communism seeks to create a planned economy, communism has a worldwide agenda while fascism is more local and focused on national interest to the extreme, both hate capitalism, both hate democracy, both hate free speech, love censorship, militarism and supressing people that disagree with them. they aren´t identical and there are some varients through out history but overal they all work the same way. a good side note is that these ideologies would not be able to exist without modern technology, from radio, mass printed media, propaganda, logistics, administrative bodies and secret police, people like to think these ideologies are gone but they are more present then ever and a potential super power China is create even more advanced forms of controle which is quite a terrifying development, even more so due to people not taking the threat serieusly while pretending to fight ghosts of the past, it´s all rather childish and insane to be honest.
