@stereomachine that's because most of the tribes lived in very isolated regions, causing micro evolution in their specific environment, often times with very little interaction with other tribes. This also implies a certain degree of imbreeding (as was the case for most of the world at some point) The argument of "most genetically diverse" is kind of a meaningless term, it does not say anything about who they are, what they look like, what that means and in fact the skin color can be very different between groups, the Neolote people for example are much darker than most other african people's.

I do wonder what the future is going to look like but from all the signs and developments I see, I don't think it's going to be that great. When Africa starts to develop much more rapidly (even more so than today) I fear with it's massive population size and potential ethnic conflicts it's going to ripe for either proxy wars or if the new cold war goes hot to be a major Battlefield for the US, China, Russia and EU. Seeing the decline in resources, major conflicts brewing and new technologies, I don't think we are going to see good times for anyone.

@66sec65 he finalized it because Italy lost in ww2 but it's interesting how the fascists came and freed slaves, something you don't often hear about in history, I feel like you just want attention and want to praise Halie Salasie for some reason, most of the rural people and elites probably did not want to lose their slaves, so it's interesting how fascist Italy invading them helped to get the ball rolling on abolishing slavery.

@66sec65 yes, you did, so did some of the founding fathers of the USA, I only mentioned Italy because it's funny how the fascists were the ones who freed slaves, something most people aren't aware of, likewise others did not know about those leaders who tried to do so as well. Fair enough?

I thought Italy conquered Ethiopia before ww2? Also did Ethiopia not lose to some Tigrey rebels? I don't think they are going to be an african superpower, best bet would be Nigeria, South Africa or the potential east african federation, though who knows? Perhaps they can make a miracle happen, stranger things have happened before. Edit : ohhh nvm you mentioned Italy, my bad.

I never quite got the whole "they drew the borders so therefor conflict is inevitable" thing, like people are allowed to move around right? You would think after decades of decolonisation that would fix the issue with these borders no? Or they could redraw them themselves or just idk have some sort of population exchange, in the worst cases things like ethnic cleansing and deportations would happen and then "solve" the issue no? Why is this still a thing?
