@glif1360 it's a policy from the 90s that's outdated as hell, when GMO'S first came into the market it was uncertain how safe they were and for what purpose they would be used, also certain lawsuits could be made if GMO crops got pulinated by non-gmo crops so to not have to deal with the legal complications which in Europe are much more complicated than the US they simply banned GMO's and never changed that policy, though it has loosened it's policies on GMO crops being used in food products like Soy and what not.

So you want those people to remain poor forever? It's an unrealistic delusion to think that's fair or going to happen. You have to come up with a better solution.

You don't want to be as poorly made or biased as Vox or Bloomberg, it's not bad but it's also not perfect, I find Caspian Report to be far more accurate

@RoScFan you just keep telling yourself that while not understanding anything of Brazil, how it's government works or how economics in general works. if you want them to stay out of the amazon rainforrest you have to make them an offer of compensation (that being in the billions if not trillions) while also offering a government solution to give them more alternatives. I love to hear your ideas but unless you imagine invading the country, overthrowing it's government, creating a huge reservation zone where no humans are allowed in and basically enslave the population to be idk serfs who aren't allowed to move off their little plot of land while working the fields or something then I doubt it's going give any long term solution.

Lula literally did jail time for corruption, why would the Brazilian people elect such an idiot? It's also not in western Europe's favor. The best case situation would be for Bolsonaro to compremise to the EU-Mer deal or find someone within his own party or opposition to try and help elect, Lula is a joke in my view but some nations seem to like being seen as jokes I think, same in western Europe.

@johnpijano4786 yeah stupid socialists do, it's the same reason why the germans keep voting for the greens despite them not actually reaching their climate goals and needing to keep coal plants open because their policies suck so much, likewise a big part of brazilian people just love and want more corruption, crime and crooks in power. but again the majority of the people will continue to follow Bolsonaro, the leftist will likely try and kill him again though, so him winning again depends more on how well armed and how good they can aim at Bolsonaro, otherwise I can't see him losing but who knows for sure?

@trthib most people in the EU don't even know GMO's are banned in the EU and it's mostly a policy that's been enforced since the 90s that's never been changed because of course it's not, it's the EU. perhaps in the future that might change but right now very unlikely, not because of any actual scientific or economic reason, it's just government policy that nobody cares about to protest for or vote over, so they don't care.
3
Bolsonaro will likely win relection anyways, killing the deal would be rather stupid and pointless for both sides, they have much to gain and simply pretending like populism is going to stop such treaties is bizzar, perhaps the EU green new deal is the treatie that needs reform.

Pretty much yeah and often times hurting their own causes, many of them being against nuclear energy, planting windmiles that cost a lot, kill local animals like birds and still not meet their co2 reduction quota's. You know the saying, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
2
@trthib let me ask you this, when was the last time you saw a protest anywhere in Europe in favor of GMO's? And when was the last time you saw a political parties platform be about introducing GMO's? If the people don't demand it and it can't bring votes to political parties it's a non issue and if it's a non issue then most people aren't aware of the potential benefits. You can say that's a biased observation but I think it's a pretty accurate observation. Also yes I live in Europe, the Netherlands to be exact, most Europeans care more about football (or soccer if your american) than politics

@Dear_Mr._Isaiah_Deringer GMO in food products or GMO crops grown in the EU? Because the former has been there for a very long time, the later would be new to my understanding.

6:10 this part is total bullshit, he is very popular and has dealt with the covid-19 hysteria very well, compared to western Europe, countries like Brazil are very poor compared to western Europe, they can't pay for such economic decline and if Bolzanaro had done this he would have been ousted already. I think you base this of what western media is "reporting" on while Bolzanaro himself and his party are organising meetings with thousands of people to cheer his party on, he's not going to lose, unless some crazy leftist tries to kill him again.
2
@Angel24Marin Hahaha sure, because a 99,8% survival rate which Bolsonaro also had gotten is clearly going to effect the election results, not say the extremist lockdowns that made millions poor, created mass hysteria and psychological damage, clearly. Man it's been over a year and some people actualy still think like this, it's a good laugh il tell you that much.

@SuperLusername im pretty sure clean drinking water is a health and national security related issue not enviromental. except perhaps how it's gathered or created in the case of desalination plants.

@FOLIPE recently? did south america not have a war that one time over a football match? and before that they had the second biggest slave trade in the world, next to the Turks i think, the cartels run most rural areas and cities. seems like recently they started trying to be more like real nations, compared to the past but idk.
1
@johnpijano4786 and you believed them? wow talk about out of touch and naive.
1
@johnpijano4786 all german parties are like Third way german parties, they all are authoritarian and don't have many rights or liberties. in essence they are a controled democracy and are very far left, the greens, the SDP, de linke, the ironic part is most of the ''far right'' parties seem to be the least totalitarian and more about being actually free as a nation.
1
@Dear_Mr._Isaiah_Deringer I did not know that, I thought it was just outright banned.
1
@am_that_guy I've seen Vox a few times and it's all bias, spin and bullshit, if you want to say it's good because of pretty colors and some special effects then even that is medicore in my opinion but to each his own I suppose. still does not make it good Journalism, in fact it's in my top 10 of least trustworthy channels out there. last time they did any good reporting was with the Azov Batalion that everyone on the left was ignoring for some reason, think that was 2016 or something, even then it was only impressive because everyone else did not even mention it.
1
@oo--7714 Caspian Report seems pretty unbiased, most unbiased news is independent. I would rather trust Stxyhexxenhammer666 than CNN or Fox news.
1
@FOLIPE you just keep telling yourself that, If I were Bolsonaro I worry more about another assasination attempt, seems to be the way forward for socialists when they keep losing.
1
@FOLIPE I agree, being a socialist is a mental illness. crimes? what crimes? the crime of being a non-corrupt leader in Brazil? that would be quite the radical in south america.
1
@muriloleite7194 you just keep telling yourself that, unless the cowardly leftists sharpen their rusty knives again to try and stab and kill him he will most likely win reelection. Im sorry but you had decades of government corruption under lula and the country went no-where now you got a leader that takes action and suddenly you he's the shame of the country? Realy? Honestly get someone new to run against bolsonaro, have him/her copy some of his retoric while being slightly less anti enviromentalism don't push forward the same idiot who did jail time for corruption, that's what would make Brazil look like a joke to the world.
1
@Angel24Marin you don't think it's because they are poor and have bigger issues to deal with? like idk murder rate? drug crimes? corruption? you might feel so high and might in your ivory tower but in the favelas for millions of people it's a struggle for survival everyday, most people that die of covid-19 are older people and people with unhealthy lifestyles, so why should the poor care? of course I reject the covid-19 vaccine they are mostly useless, won't lift any lockdowns, won't magically make the economic damage go away and won't give any protection when the virus mutates, it's not like Ebola which kills about 80% of it's hosts and is horrible as hell, it's a coof like any bad flu season, just because the media and the ''experts'' like to fearmonger does not make it true. most of those nations would love some more tourism, otherwise it's back into prostitution, crime or drugs for many people in those communities.
