they aren't taking drones seriously? aren't they putting a lot of effort in making new drones both in Europe, the USA, Iran, Russia, China and Japan?
Rheinmetal's new tank the Panther is going to have build in drone linking capabilities, as well as light anti air defence against drone targets I believe.
then you got the US switchblade drones that Kamikazi into targets.
I think they take drones very seriously but don't have a good, cheap and easy counter to many of these drones, so far their response seems to be either counter drones, improved radar systems and anti air targeting systems.
I feel like nations are looking at the war in Ukraine and trying to figure out if the same conditions would apply to them if they got involved in such a large scale war or if the drone warfare we are seeing are due to the lack of air superiority as well as much of the low tech we are seeing being used on both sides, after all it might not be a good idea to start rushing into any specific system for billions worth of R&D and testing if it turns out those systems won't be used in any new modern war.
one thing I've notice the focus from the west is on, are new fighter aircrafts and maintaining air superiority to bomb any potential enemy before they get to use any local level drones on ground forces.
