@WinterPhoenixForestKirin they have below replacement rate birthrates, as well as an aging population and a very unhealthy work habit. In a ideal future, the jappanese government would try and invest more in tools like automation and robotics to help the elderly population, at the same time make overworking illigale for most companies with big fines if they are found out. Furthermore they should try and build cheap housing for young people to live. The government and people are trying things but it's not enough and society is very oppressive and shame based. The west meanwhile is doing it's own stupid thing, so in many ways Japan is doing better than the west but it's different.

@WinterPhoenixForestKirin no but I follow some people who live in Japan and pretty much everyone who lives there says the working conditions are inhumane and very shame based, which is also why suicide rates are so high and why you see things like Hikkimori.

@areez22 I saw some graph the other day that could be true but since it's highly urbanized, I imagine the places with the best jobs are more expensive and smaller, not fit to raise families in or live comfortable, could be wrong but that seems to be the norm everywhere else in industrialized economies so how would japan be any different and if so how come? Perhaps it's just their lack of immigration? That could make sense but to raise families and support them you need to cut down on some expenses or have ease of access to houses to support them. If im wrong do give feedback on it, since I only heard about it a few days ago and was not sure if it's accurate or not.
