  8. life is harder now then back then, more freedoms, more economic freedom, more competent leadership, better understanding of technology (gen z have less know how of computers then many boomers) to me, these are the dark ages and it's only going to get worse for most of my lifetime, it might start to pick up in 30-50 years, untill then, survival will be most people's concerns even before 2030. @SnowBalling

I think I understand Asmongold’s position, he is being a realist and pragmatist of the situation that people are in, regardless of if that is a good one or not, whereas people against his point argue that the conditions of most people (be it hard working people or people making poor choices) is too hard and brutal for people to compete in. both are true, even if you work a decent job, you might feel unsuccessful because you imagined the value of your labour would be rewarded more or you should be taxed less to at least feel like your slowly improving your standard of living rather than see it devalue by inflation, year after year. what is most depressing about society today is that the people in charge seem to make their lives worse and worse, while the economic system itself demands you to improve to be a better cog in the machine and demands to change these conditions either makes you a fascist or a communist, how can this go on forever? I don’t think it can. The Capitalist system will survive of course but I think these trends we see have to reverse at some point, until then try and make the best of things.
