  1. to be honest if they were smart all they would have to do is hand the local hobo some money to go in and smash the expensive robot and suddenly they will be back in their job, well untill that robot also gets destroyed and perhaps the store moves out of that part of town but it could work in theory.

  2. one thing I will say is people should be concerned about automation and losing their jobs to AI and it should not just be brushed aside as ''hahaha learn to code, bro'' this if taken to it's logical conclusion will have far reaching effects on society, capitalist systems and the very nature of society, political power, ideology, everything. it should be engaged with honestly and help shape a potential long term prospect for people to adapt to this new reality, if we can adopt these new technologies, intergrate them into the capitalistic system while also maintaining basic demands of the public and their limited ability to adapt to these changes, we could create a truly amazing future where most low skilled jobs are automated and people have the ability to specialize into new fields as well as people who can't to live a relatively comfortable life and those that do can reap the rewards from it as they should. if however we mess this up (which we likely will because we are humans) it could create a really, really bad situation that either makes it a kind of cyberpunk dystopia but stupid or a totalitarian dystopia where people empower the wrong people to make things much worse, potentially both.
