Is freedom not just another word for power? The individual matters but he is still part of a collective, he shares his freedom with others and thus he is limited, unable to do all that he could, arguments made by slave owners to attempt to justify their practice was that they had the freedom to own slaves and that it was their responsability to provide for their property. Im not saying that freedom does not exist or does not matter, im simply asking if we are honest with ourselfs when we consider freedom and authority as opposites instead of two sides of the same coin. When we are all free, aren't we all powerless to some extend? And how will this move forward in the future? At what point does freedom become the desire to rule others for only then would you not be bend by others.
