  1. Here is an unpopular opinion, what if the great filter is democracy? Those that have it reduce their goals as a species to the one with the most numbers, to a goal of endless growth, a human civilization that does not seek to improve but only wishes to consume. That's not to say dictatorship is much beter but democracy how we have it today, does not seem sustainable.
