  1. 9:19 the issue was never that we would somehow be unable to feed the world or not have economic growth, the issue is that our current models of economic growth means our growth as a species inevitably will come at the cost of the enviroment and other animals species and ecosystems and in this regard they are correct, the current 6th mass extinction event is us humanity and while population growth is falling in the west and in some parts of asia, most of the world is exploding and all those people need food, homes, water, jobs, they all need economic growth which is why many far leftwing groups want more immigration, ultimately we aren't solving the climate crisis and the enviromental crisis because we aren't being mature about what works and what does not work, it's a giant mess and frankly it seems we deserve a collapse for our hypocracy and ignorance on the long term effects. I dont have all the solutions at hand, idk how to sustain economic growth, population growth while at the same time protect enviromental issues but I do know the first step in solving a problem is admiting there is one and both sides aren't looking at the bigger picture.
