  1. I rather see point 1 as a honest self assesment rather than respect. He realises the situation and openly says how things are. I just comes over as respectful. Point 2: isnt showing gratitude just showing one is a decent human being? Why is that respectful in Japan? Point 3: And this how you stop any kind of productive conversation and everyone nods at the plan... Sorry but i took part in meeting, and if just the higher ups talk that not good... same for friendship conversations, when one just can voice his own opinion. It also discourages Initative, which in my opinion is a skill everyone needs. Point 4: I would call this being open minded. I find it strange to associate that with being respectful but ok. I kinda see why... maybe....
