  21.  @mostlyguesses8385  Yes, it was "Aims: The aim of the EEC and the common market was to: transform the conditions of trade and production on the territory of its 6 members and serve as a step towards the closer political unification of Europe Specific goals The signatories agreed to: lay the foundations of an ‘ever closer union’ among the peoples of Europe ensure the economic and social progress of their countries by joint action to eliminate trade and other barriers between them; improve their citizens’ living and working conditions; ensure balanced trade and fair competition; reduce the economic and social differences between the EEC’s various regions; gradually abolish restrictions on international trade through a common trade policy; abide by the principles of the UN charter; pool their resources to preserve and strengthen peace and liberty and call on other peoples of Europe who share this ideal to join them in these efforts." So EEC was always meant to be political as per treaty/treaties and Lisbon is just another step in that direction EU budget has always been adequate with the aims and the needs. Oh and since we're talking about USA, you know USA were never meant to be a Federation? In the Article of Confederation it's never mentioned, heck it's barely is in the 1779 constitution! And states were not giving a cent to Washington because of that and rightly so. So, if anything, it's the Congress who overstepped, not the EU, which is a political alliance and not, like NATO, UN, NAFTA AND the Confederation of America a pooling of independent states. So EU has all the right, as per treaties, to use the means it is using, against Hungary as well

There was no article in the new Constitution that said South couldn't secede either but Washington didn't want to hear it.
