They trusted Russia would respect their territory. Which they don't

@ST2008X If Ukraine had nuclear weapons Russia would have never attacked
6
@YayaToure1247 No, the Treaty stated that Ukraine territory won't be violated in exchange foe nuclear weapon s on Ukraine soil, but Russia tried to invade after the ousting of their puppet
6
@YayaToure1247 Maiden was a revolt of the people against a puppet of Moscow

I've read something even more ancient and more true "vis pace, para bellum". If you want peace prepare for war.
3
@Sniperboy5551 Russia on other hand is not corrupted at all...
3
Russia did in 2014 not respecting Budapest Memorandum
2
@vidi.viciveni They know it too and know what it would mean. That's why you prepare for war, so you can have peace
2
Russia telling Ukraine to give up the arsenal in exchange of a worthless treaty is the equivalent of a mother telling her child "come here I won't do anything" with a ladle in hand
2
@popermen694 Exactly
2
They didn't. Crimea and Donvass belong to Ukraine
2
@dontforget2289 Russia did back in 2014 breaking Budapest Memorandum
2
But it can invade you and level your territory
2
Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
1
@seanfaherty Russia signed a treaty bucko
1
@seanfaherty But Russia is the one who broke it
1
Ukraine didn't vow that. Moreover it became a necessity to join NATO after Russia 2014 aggression
1
There soup have been an invasion in the first place
1
@vidi.viciveni Si vis pacem para bellum
1
In the 90s Russia had barely the power to not collapse
1
@killman369547 They did fall into the hands of someone untrustworthy, the Russians 😄 If Ukrainians, backed by Usa, said no Russians couldn't have done anything. They are barely in the war as it is now
1
@max-cs9ko Yeah, ground Reality is worse....For the Russians!😂
1
You can change those
1
@davidwagner9644 Well, they could ask USA help. Russia had no the means to take those nukes anyway
1
@davidwagner9644 Obviously they didn't or they wouldn't have signed the Budapest memorandum
1
@davidwagner9644 Well, it depend, for a pariah state like Russia maybe, but for other states treaties are to be respected NATO didn't promise to fight alongside Ukraine or it would be already be there, perhaps Russia wouldn't have started if NATO did promise to intervene
1
@YayaToure1247 And? So the government change and the treaties aren't valid anymore? Beside, the government changed because it disown the mandate of the people, who rebelled again the puppet government of Moscow. And Russia and Ukraine weren't the only ones in the treaties. So your excuse doesn't work
1
@YayaToure1247 Yeah ok, that's your level, kindergarten
1
@YayaToure1247 LOL, you think Russia is gonna win?
1
@YayaToure1247 The President fo Ukraine was put by Moscow against the will of the people, who wanted to get close to EU
1
This goes all the way back to the Memorandum of Budapest that Russia didn't respect
1
@Jan6750 No, it is and has always been about imperialism, Russia imperialism. They had to calm down post 1991 because they were weak but post 2000s, especially 2008, Putin finally revealed his ambitions. Let's not forget Russia has invaded and it's still occupying Georgia, Moldova and Cecenia Ukraine didn't want to be the next and in 2o014 they reacted
1
@chomasensi They did😆 If Ukrainians said no there wouldn't have been anything Russia could do
1
@chomasensi Yeah, that's why Russians simply lied about respecting Ukraine borders
1
@chomasensi Nah, USA has a lot to learn about that from Russians, especially about not respecting the treaties
1
@chomasensi I think you are confused, you're talking about memorandum of Budapest and that's only one of the treaties Russia never respected- But it's typical Russia hypocrisy to talk about others
