@YO-pf3pq And what does it say about him?
5
β @davidthompson4383 Britain is an island, uk an organisation in that island that many don't want ( and it's insignificant as well)
3
Good idea
3
No, you can disagree, but you shouldn't be able to stop the majority from reach a decision
3
πͺπΊπͺπΊπͺπΊ
3
β @vincenzoc.1781 I think you misunderstood his comment
2
@davidthompson4383 Thanks to Europeans and Americans. uk had inflated ego in 1776 and 1956 too. remember how it went?
2
@Joey-ct8bm It is an insult, because Italy is the third contributor and countries like Finland, Sweden (Norway isn't in EU), Netherlands and, when it was in, the uk, don't hold a candle to Italians, which boas the third economy too
2
@Joey-ct8bm First tier contributor and third economy. The recovery fund is basically what Italy gave through the years Also, Germany would have been bankrupted in the 90s if it wasn't for Italy and so would EU is Italy fell or stopped its contributions
2
β @haglasu1468 because it is a fact?
2
@haglasu1468 It is. Even if you doubt
2
@haglasu1468 Last time two countries in EU ever went at war was when they weren't in EU
2
Always thought France would be the end of Europe...
2
BS.
2
You are wrong on the EU
2
β @Vincrand like?
2
@Vincrand You will find lot in common. Many languages have a common origin, others have words that come from other languages Ou can see differences between two towns in the same country if you want to, this doesn't mean that country should divide itself
2
We don't need one language. Everyone should learn a bunch and use them to communicate
2
Typical of Frogs.... No wonder EU doesn't work.
2
Well said
2
@beasley1232 Well, true. It is also true they started as "Thirteen colonies". The USA as we know them were made by immigrants from all the nations in the world however, you are right on that And on their anti colonialist stance
2
Data is not propaganda, numbers are what they are even though you don't like it
2
Well, you can exit
1
Err....Thanks. Hopefully Russia and EU relations will be easier....in a future
1
You think USA had not internal quarrel? The states where first and foremost indipendent states. And yet they did it... Sure, new continent, no previous History but it was not easy at all. And Europe need a federate government, a balanced Federation. If Poland doesn't like it, it can always exit
1
There is lot of misconception about EU. People think it was born because of France and Germany when it was born actually because of Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and also Germany and France. Six countries
1
Yeah, it's not easy, that's why we'll have to try hard to built a common home
1
β @adamnesico Except it never meant to be just that. Of course Spaniards wouldn't know...
1
β @cosacercononloso Don't talk for all Italians
1
β @luxraider5384 why?
1
@anitagorse9204 Good
1
@luxraider5384 That could be said for any state
1
@luxraider5384 Yes
1
β @hansgruber788 Not even in Napolenic Wars
1
It's an idea but you didn't ask Swiss nor Eastern Europeans or Balkans people what they think of it. What if they don't agree?
1
β @marcobeardo985 Well said
1
Hopefully... πͺπΊπͺπΊπͺπΊπͺπΊ
1
Then maybe you should leave?
1
@MachivelianBear EU is more than a game between nations and if it does Federalize, what will you do? You will have to leave, because that won't stop just because you are self centred as the English
1
@MachivelianBear And you can still be, OUT of a Federate Europe. That's why many people scoffed at the English and see people like you in the same light: why should you stay in an organization if you don't like where it's going? Why can't you just leave and let other decide? If you don't like it LEAVE, if you don't you accept what happens.
1
@MachivelianBear Yeah, in this hypothetical scenario you would. Sweden may also join. Dunno about Finland, they might want a better protection than an army made with the few people Nordic countries can get, but perhaps. EU IS going there. The big three/ four push might get even the other countries. Well, I guess not the nordic ones But who is to say they'd change their mind as well...
1
@MachivelianBear We shall see. Are you sure Sweden would follow IF you exit( granted Danish would vote for it...)?
1
@MachivelianBear And it didn't work. Like, EVER. Such a bond you have....that Norwegians would die before getting in an Union with Sweden and Denmark again. Because in the end, it was being subjected, not peers. Both Sweden and Denmark dropped their reservations over EU army. A joint command? There is already one in NATO...and it wouldn't be an unified top down structure like the one EU wants to make Also, Finland uses Euro, not kronos and it's dubios they'd leave that currency for kronas
1
β @christopheripoll2580 No, those crisis show how EU need a central FEDERAL government. Are you English? That would explain a lot
1
@christopheripoll2580 Actually, it is. It was ALWAYS meant to be a political union since the beginning 1,5 millennia? Few NATIONS are that old, no modern country is that old. And those were centuries of bloodshed and pain I'm Italian. We Italian are one of those few nations old, in fact older than 1500 years and we're proud of it. Yet, I don't feel the past should be an anchor that bring us further down, far from a great future
1
@christopheripoll2580 You are confusing Nation with state, even France as a State exist only since 1789 after conquering actually states like Burgundy and Brittany and even recently it has secessionist movements! So no, 1500 years is a wrong number, as before it was the crown that mattered, there wasn't any sense of nation for inhabitants of modern France. It's the same as Anglosaxon conquering Cornwall and near countries and declaring the kingdom England Italy, on other hand existed as a nation for st least 20 centuries. Starting with Augustus Italy, going on in Middle age until at least 1000 AD an Italian state existed. Dante and Petrarca talked about Italy as one nation So you are right in Italy and France being different, as Italy is much older
1
@christopheripoll2580 Regarding the EU, the target was always a political union, it's in the treaties, starting with the 1957 one in Rome And it worked like it works now because Europe has a common History, as well common value of democracy and freedom. Values developed in centuries of bloodshed. Centuries I'd rather not go back to, despite some of them being some of the highlights of my country's LONG History
1
β @Gary-bz1rf Which is...? Which way? You think you speak for Britain but you ain't, Britain will be there with EUrope long after uk is gone
1
β @thomasbootham2707 You benefitted enormously by joining and LOL...The CTPPT is thousand of kim away from uk and it's dubios if USA will join
1
ββ @dartskipper3170 es, EEC always had a goal of a Federation, even before we let uk in. uk was the sick man of Europe and things improved once joining, too bad uk is something based on English dominance so it couldn't coincive EU if not as an attempt for the stronger economies within (Germany, Italy and France) to dominate EU but that was and it's not it. EU is founded, contrary to uk, on the principle of peace and prosperity for everyone
