  9.  @michaelranger9104  No, EU was formed, in its embryo, in 1957, in Rome, by six countries: Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Germany and their respective head of states. The treaty give the name European Community to the new Union. Again, uk wasn't there.
