English and French couldn't win 2(3)vs1, getting hammered by Germany always on the same battlefield, in France, while Italians at least advanced and beat AH, destroying its army, which made it collapse and prompted Germany, whose army was still intact in 1918, to surrender.

That's the reason both French and English begged kn their knees for Italy to join the Entente, only to betray them. The soldiers surely had valor, but Entente generals wasted their lifes

As for WW1, Italy won the majority of the battles, was kicking AH out of the war in 1916 and it's the only one to defeat its opponents, without help, whereas nor Germany nor Entente could defeat theirs 2/3 vs 1, both had it surrendering or collapsing with the army intact ( Entente vs Germany, Germany vs Russia)

  12. Not really: Italians were quite strong in Middle Ages and Early Moder Era, while other, like Spaniards, French, English, were at the margins of History. But after 1494 disunity took a toll until Italy reunited, then it didn't do that bad, certainly not worse than English( Zulu), France( Haitians, Algerians, Vietnamese), Spanish( Defeated by Pampas natives) etc...

Costantinople would have been a little town. Many of Greek attraction, like the Zeus temples, wouldn't exist or would be incomplete. Greeks were given by Romans the concept of historically accurate representation of History events, instead of myth representation, the portrait as we know today is due to them too And Rome was a democracy before Greece, if anything Roman gave a more widespread democracy than the Greek one. But the influence of Rome on Greece is not as talked as much as Greek influence on Rome
