@Lenny-kp5nf No bro, the famine was caused by uk redirecting food from India
2
@ldsamda2854 No, we, him and you included, would speak German if it wasn't for AMERICA
2
@Paul-fs8ox No, it was opened in 1943 with the invasion of Italy and then reinforced with D-Day. It tied up a fair amount of Germans who would have been employed in the East. You can talk about the East front all you want but the battle was on on RESOURCES. Much of British land lease was given to the Soviets, many of whom were fighting bare handed. Soviets didn't win the war, USA was fundamental in defending the Axis in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific

Why?

@PaulByrne-w8l But the English are the ones with more responsibilities
1
@Paul-fs8ox But Soviets needed American materials to do it. Without it nor uk nor Soviets would have resisted enough time for things to turn around
1
@Paul-fs8ox Actually true. USA started the land and lease to uk in 1940 and much of that material was given to USSR in 1941. Soviets "robust capabilities" didn't materialize until 1943, by then it would have been too late And USA opened another front who made it easy for the Soviets. Were they a piece of the puzzle? Yes, but America was THE central piece
