@mattysti947 It's like teaching History to a donkey. A coward one no less
1) No matter what they referred themselves as, they were not Romans, not since 900 AD. Otherwise so are Turks
2) Yes they did. By 800/900 AD they spoke Greek and Latin was not used even in public administration. And contrary to Italy their culture was a mixture of Slavs, Turks and Greek, 3)Italy kept being Latin, the few Germanics were absorbed by Romans and became Romans themselves
4) the concept of cultural nation existed and Italy was one, Italy was indipendent since 1100 at least, chasing out HRE and will remain so fo 400 years. Contrary to Byzantium who lost itself to Turk
5) Roman heritage is real for Italy, the blood is the sane and the culture at national and regional level was always Roman.
I know it anger you, everyone wants to claim such great heritage, like the Greek one. Only Italy can claim them both.
Now go studying.

@skiteufr French mock others to forget of their ineptitude to win anything.
French was defeated, well, so did Italy. And yes, France, the actual France who collaborated with nazi, declared war to the allies. But it is something French do great, just not as great as surrendering. Italy, on other hand, never did switch sides
Ps: ever heard of Rome empire, Venice, Genoa, Pisa? Italy has a great military History

@mattysti947 No, Italy was mostly homogenous BEFORE. Again, more than BYZANTINE empire
5) no, beside some regional specific food every food has similar aspect, same for wines, and it was also in Middle Ages. Culture is very similar as well
No, most Europeans came from the Germanic invaders, they kept some of Latin culture but not as much as Italy. Spain is very much more Germanic and Arabic than Italy, they were invaded first by Vandals then became Arabic for centuries
Italian dialects are more similar than Spanish or French are to Italians.
Byzantine is a mixture of Greek, Slavs, Turks and Germanic influences

No, most Europeans came from the Germanic, they kept some of Latin culture but not as much as Italy. Spain is very much more Germanic and Arabic than Italy, they were invaded first by Vandals then became Arabic for centuries. There us nothing wrong in that, just they ain't close to Romans
Italian dialects are more similar than Spanish or French are to Italians.
Byzantine is a mixture of Greek, Slavs, Turks and Germanic influences
