Escaping the middle-income trap requires elite discipline. It's a philosophical thing. Protestantism, Judaism, Bushido, and other philosophies. Philosophy is necessary as a discipline for elites ,because the development of a country is closely related to the direction of investment. Philosophy influences direction. If these are lost, even developed countries will fall into the middle-income trap.
