Love both states dearly, but the food, scenery, housing, and mountains (also wayyy better cost of living) can’t be beat in New Mexico. It’s a Gem 💎

@Lisa-eo9gd internet is way dramatized, Las Cruces has perfect weather, way warmer than ABQ or Santa Fe and cheaper. Super fun and quiet, it’s safe. Beautiful mountains and 3 national parks within 45 minutes. Sonoma Ranch, Talavera, desert mirage, picacho hills and rasaaf hills are all excellent neighborhoods. And El Paso is 4th safest city in the country and has big city amenities and is only 35 mins away

Las Cruces is more similar Phoenix in summer though. Much hotter than ABQ. It’s constantly over 100 for 5 months a year

@aick yea and I’ll bet triple that of days above 95. It’s hot there smarty pants. Hotter than “Most” places but not hotter than Phoenix (which I DIDNT CLAIM) it IS hot place with an excellent winter climate.

Clovis isn’t really New Mexico though haha barely anyone lives in the eastern 1/3rd of the state. Kind of odd judgement there, the southern and western parts of the state are much better and lively

Good points, although southern New Mexico (especially Las Cruces, the second largest city) is zone 8 and very hot. It’s 90s and 100s from April til early October and there is beautiful palm trees and agaves, cacti everywhere. It’s a very diverse state in terms of climate and topography

@MannyWC that’s odd, most horror stories of bad and corrupt police have been in Arizona. They’re famous for it, Tucson PD and Mesa PD have been on blast for years. Meanwhile New Mexico abolished qualified immunity for police, thus going into the right direction of not letting police get away with bad shit. Look up bad cops in Arizona on YouTube haha they are terrible. New Mexico doesn’t even take radar haha they are so chill. But that’s just my anecdotal evidence, doesn’t mean squat to anyone

Las Cruces has excellent climate, 300+ sunny days a year (more than Phoenix) and amazing houses, low property taxes, great food scene, wineries etc. the new builds and neighborhoods sprouting up on the north and east side are off the charts. Builders can’t even keep up. Tons of California, Arizona, and other state plates moving in houses around Cruces for the last 3 years. It’s on the verge of a slight boom I feel.

@kjhuang love both states but nature, parks, mountains and camping is far better in New Mexico than Arizona
