  1. It's possible that those traits put you at an evolutionary disadvantage. It's one of the reasons the saying "nice guys finish last" exists. Men being too kind results in women not being attracted, and therefore loss of genetic legacy. Ruthlessness is rewarded in the grand scheme of things, unfortunately.
