Because it's such a basic concept, and if you politely mentioned "well not everyone from group x" then the person who made the generalization will more than likely agree. Generalizations are shorthand in conversation. Not sure why people don't get that.

I am here to be a narcissist and brag about my political and moral views : I am a vegan, pro-gun, secular, anti-10,000+ gender pronouns, anti-censorship, anti-grudge, egalitarian (NOT feminist), pro-smaller government, pro-equal opportunity (not outcome), race realist, pro-LGB, brown/black person who speaks Japanese. I'm also a bit of a hippie and have a soft spot for homeless down on their luck (presuming they aren't insane, hostile drug addicts). I enjoy cooking for my girlfriends and have friends from all walks of life. I am superior to everyone. I have never met anyone else as kind and forgiving as myself. The rest of you need to do better.

  10.  @anibalhyrulesantihero7021  The difference is leftists use institutionalized systems to ostracize their opposition. A prime example being censorship. Conservatives don't have time for all that... They will just verbally assault you, but if you have a tough skin you can actually gain their respect. Next time a conservative insults you, try to insult him/her back with a bit of playful banter... Usually left-leaning people take insults WAY too seriously and hold grudges too much. Let it roll off and reapproach the situation later with a neutral outlook. Granted, there are true conservative assholes as well, but you'll figure that out by how quickly they "get serious" with you.
