@Gainersy Before I answer that question, I want you to look at the pre-2020 statistics for how often things like motor vehicle deaths, including deaths related to heart disease, diabetes, obesity, smoking, etc, occurred (annually) at "acceptable levels" to continue operating society. Then come back to Covid and look at the numbers (99.5% recovery, but for the sake of argument, lets say 98%).
In my view, it's also not about "how many" are dying but rather WHY they are dying. There are legions of disgustingly unhealthy people everywhere in the USA, I don't expect those people to live long or not get sick. If such people die, disproportionately to an actual healthy individual, then frankly I don't care about them. They chose their own health habits. I'm not their daddy.
