And the good years of our lives are even shorter.

@TheDirtymikenation No the good years the young years, the big problem is that the education system wastes your life and produces next to useless people at the age of 18-26, usually about 22-24 and then you can barely do crap if you didn't properly self-educate way beyond the crappy education system from a young age, you will be stuck in the bottom positions of the sphere you studied at best, if you can even land a job in that sphere in the first place. In the 12 years of highschool alone we should be able to produce experts in almost every possible field and yet they waste our time.

That's not how progressive taxes work...

@panpluto13 actually schools are there to indoctrinate you, make you conform and to make you hate learning, critical thinking and comprehension through rote learning, while training you to be a voiceless obedient slave.

highschools are not meant to teach you nor educate you.

@CinnamonBeard sad but true.

@brou971 and the stock market doesn't guarantee that either, just saying. The chances of failure aren't high, but at the same time they exist and lost decades can happen.

@brou971 True and I'd even say some physical assets like land and real estate are good for diversity.

@abrahamwalton8244 Absolutely, we live in times of overproduction and overabundance of everything material, yet we are working more and more than in the last 80 years while working in more advanced jobs than ever... But if we were to have a UBI we don't know what would happen for sure. On the other hand, for tens of thousands of years, you had to work(no matter the form of work) until you dropped dead, so it's not anything new.

Taxes always start with the rich, literally. Taxes initially were only for the rich and they trickled down to the non-rich.
