@bbdoook Yup and I'm so sad about it. From what I read the real safety comes from airbags and not so much from the chasis itself, but oh well. I think a 900-1000kg, 200-225hp Type-R, it'd be more fun than a 1600-1800kg 350-400hp Type-R, and better looking.

nothing cheap enough to stick in a Type-R sadly. :/

@Vermonstered Wait are those new?

@A500-g6g And both f1 cars and regular cars could weigh a lot less if not for regulations.

@A500-g6g Honda was planning on making a 10 800RPM(or somewhere along those lines) engine, successor to the F20/22 in the S2000, before they went turbo, since the emission regulations curbed that idea. And they can't make a lightweight civic anymore, not with the chasis "safety" regulations that add 40% more weight compared to the 90s. Honda needs a new S2000, which was their answer to the Miata and it was superior to it at the time, but more expensive as well.

@A500-g6g The Yaris is not light weight, it's 1300kg and is 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the size of the Civic. Look at the Corolla when comparing it to the Civic, even though the new Civic is now in-between the Corolla and Camry. The GR Yaris in 1997 would have weight 800-875kg.
