And the smaller production cars should be smaller than the current small production cars, at least in terms of weight. Put this in a Lotus Elise first gen, it might even drop below 860KG, or any other equivalent. XD

It really is. This is an amazing underrated car. Two seater, sports, mid-engine, RWD coupes/roadsters are my favorites.

Well, F1 cars have minimum weight regulations(740kg), and RPM regulations and what-not. A fully unrestricted design would be brutal and of course super dangerous.

I want a small high revving inline 6, something like a 2.0-2.4L that can rev to 10k RPM no problem and perhaps a 10.6-10.8K RPM redline in a car(sedan/coupe preferably) that weighs less than 1000kg/2200lbs. I think this would be fun and relatively affordable.

You can't be any more wrong. Learn some physics.

@klausM54 M2 F87 and M5 F90 are the best non-supercar(considered) ones. My personal favorite is the E36 and E34 though, even though they not as good as the later ones. The M3 E46 is after that.

And yet even professional drivers use simulators nowadays.

It seems to fit better the frame of a motorcycle though.

obviously.

Well the 2000s Top Gear, the pre-2000s was alright.

@flakedwheelie Yup, it was more chill and kinda wholesome.

@Tony-hj7bm Because nothing scales linearly... The engine won't last long as it's pushed much harder than it should be, the turbos are pushed hard, the tires are on the verge of dying after just one 304mph run... The transmission is very stressed too. You'd have to rebuild most of the car every few 300mph+ runs.

Living 135 miles away from the office? What the hell... O_O

@firerider669 here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J87SVqG18sY Inline 4, 106kg, 4 liter of displacement, 3000HP, billet engine based on a production engine.

Put this thing in a motorcycle. XD

@Ausblack it's gotta be more practical. Otherwise, I want to see that 55kg 3-cylinder 600hp Koenigsegg engine in the ariel atom or the 40kg 3-cylinder 400hp nissan engine.

1.6l is also great with 400cc per cylinder, but that's for high revving engines
1
Just remove the electric engines and battery and give us a light-weight 600hp beast. :D
