believe me I have the fx6300 and I like it a lot more than I need for gaming. Also in bf3 there isn't almost no difference between the fx4300 and my fx6300 because amd cpus don't stress much when gaming. My fx6300 can't go over 35% cpu usage in any game I throw at it and the fx4300 can't go over 50% cpu usage, which means that you get slightly really slightly performance boost between the fx4300 and the fx6300 1 or 2 fps

But when you are with intel it's a different story intel usually loads up to 90-100% in games and then the extra cores come in handy :) BTW I have the fx6300 and the i5 3570k with a hd7850 on both of them :)

because to get that extra performance from the six cores it has to be like this: the fx4300 loads up to 100% and it needs more resources which is not true the fx4300 doesn't go over 45% cpu usage in battlefield 3 and if only it goes up to 100% cpu usage you'll get the extra performance from these additional cores. So the bottom line is that there are games that can use more than 4 cores but that doesn't mean that they take any advantage of 6 or 8 cores in 99% of the games. :)
