Comments by "IIIRattleHeadIII" (@badass6300) on "Is it time to switch to AMD? Has Intel lost its mind?" video.
Intel has lost their mind with the x299 platform for sure... The 8 core/16 thread i7 will only have 8.25MB L3 cache and 28 PCI-E lanes... no wonder it will cost only 600-700$... The quad core x299 i7s are a step backward and are only worth it, because the x299 platform is the only good platform intel really has for work. Then the 10 core/20 thread will have only 11.25MB l3 cache, again few PCI-E lanes and will cost around 900-1000$ and the 12 core/24 thread CPU will have finally 44 PCI-E lanes, but it will cost probably around 1000-1200$. It's likely the ryzen/thread Ripper 16 core/32 thread will cost 1000-1200$ itself and 40mb L3 cache and 64 PCI-E lanes... plus it's rumored to have octa channel memory support, with quad channel guaranteed. And the stock clock speeds of thread ripper are the same as the x299 i7 and i9s.

+SamoMalo2 Well Ryzen 2 is said to fix all problems of Ryzen 1 and have 15% higher performance and new features, so 2018 might be just as good for AMD as 2017.

Oh yeah and intel will use those crappy heat-spreaders that are NOT soldered, but use glue and thermal paste... so I wonder if a 20 kilogram radiator will be enough for the 18 core/36 thread so that it can stay at below 90C...

same, but who gives a crap?... either comment something on the topic of the video or don't comment...

+Nicholas Dluge Oh it is... I bet these CPUs will get higher avg. fps(while still having the same crappy frame times on quad core and even six core chips) and benchmark scores, but for productivity, if they actually fool people to buy their products... ehh... and I bet they will as everybody will be spreading the word of how "good" the new chips are. And my biggest concern is the glued on heat spreader... like no matter how good a CPU is, it's NO good if it melts itself...

AMD had 40% of the desktop dedicated GPU market Q4 2016, now it seems to have gone down to around 35%, even though the second boom of mining came in april of 2016, probably will be higher next quarter due to the mining.

+Peter Kapica Huh? Your sentence can be interpreted in many ways... be more clear pls.

+Nicholas Dluge Faster cache is nice, but that is really focused on lighter tasks such as games and some other minor things. Matter of the fact is most productivity software loves cache volume as much as it does speed and even more often times. But I bet it will boost the avg FPS in a few games and the scores in some benchmarks... Why care to have a good products when your customers are sheep that don't know what they are buying and are fooled by avg. fps and benchmark scores. I bet that's what's going through intels hive mind right now. Plus that faster cache needs to be about 70-80% to even come close to compensating for the lower cache amount.
