It's NOT like AMD owns Jim Keller or anybody for that matter. Keller goes where he is interested BTW and I think he is just as bored with the CPU market as much as I am, so he is going to outdo himself for self-entertainment.

+Bros Power troll much?

+Draken X decent gaming on Ryzen? Dude 0-10% lower performance than the competition in gaming means that intel has as "decent" gaming as AMD...
22
+Excaliber's Star Citizen Combat what do you mean Ryzen 2 around the corner... it came out 2-3 weeks ago...
4
+Ghostrider0067 He said Ryzen 2 which is Zen+... -_- Zen 2 is Ryzen 3(as in 3.0 -> 3rd gen) and should NOT be just a die shrink, it should have actual architectural design improvements.
4
+soopasoljah on the Ryzen 4, 6, 8 part, I think they did NOT market it that way to get the attention away from the old fx 4,6,8 CPUs.
3
+HOODedDutchman I've had 0 problems with both AMD and Intel, except that intel heats like an oven since they introduced the core "i" CPUs...
2
+sawyer x86 CPUs? VIA who own Cyrix, they got their x86-64 license in 2016 and are making CPUs and in 2019 they plan to make big volumes worldwide.

+Ghostrider0067 Zen -> 1000 series -> 2017 Original Line up Zen+ -> 2000 series -> 2018 -> , process node shrink from 14nm to 12nm leading to lower cache latencies and higher clock speeds. Zen 2 -> 3000 seires -> 2019 and will have architectural improvements Zen 2+/3 -> 4000 series -> 2020 we do NOT know what it will bring, but it will be on the 7nm+(improved 7nm).
2
+Ghostrider0067 names really do NOT matter tbh...
2
To all saying skylake is from 2015, so is Kabylake and Coffeelake, they are the exact same architecture...
2
+Sappy you can NOT know that, he wanted jay to read the comment, NOT reply. It's 50/50

Cyrix is gone, we have VIA now and in 2019 they are releasing really interesting CPUs at least from what they've promised them to be.
1
And a new 8 core coffeelake will be slightly faster than or slightly slower or on par depending on the software the ryzen 7 2700x while costing a but ton more, requiring a new and more expensive motherboard, heating like an oven, consuming power like a power plant and for the gamers, it will have the same gaming performance as the 8700k and 8600k...

+Wheeler J And then AMD will release something better and so on. Intel will NOT have CPUs coming out this year, or at least NOT on a new architecture.
1
+clansome Keller goes where he is interested, not really challenged and when he gets his job done and the company has no more interesting work for him he leaves.
1
+soopasolijah basically what I said.

+Mr Rman yes it's game optimization. Intel has had 95% the same architecture every generation and for the last 3x generation literaly the same architecture coupled with 70-80%+ market share for the past 10 years, so all the compilers, game engines and games have been optimized for intel for the past decade. Game engines, compilers and AAA games take 3-5 years to develop and Ryzen samples were given to developers in late 2016 and Ryzen got some market share in late 2017, so most likely until 2020 equally as good AMD CPUs will lose in gaming to equally as good Intel CPUs at the same clock speeds, IPC, cache performance and core/thread count.

+Flavia Pitariu What +Keetojuusto meant and I agree is that the form factor of laptops sucks. So uncomfortable to work with. I personally when I have to use a laptop I hook a mouse and keyboard to it and hook it to a monitor when I can.

+Lenny Vylrex and unless you are a public multi-millionare or have a huge multi-million dollar company and again someone knows you run it and have important data on your PC, nobody in his right mind will go and waste time and resources to hack you and on top of that the chances of you in particular to get hacked if the former two conditions are NOT true is next to none...

+Shmozone Not at all, but until they release desktop CPUs and a desktop platform they are pretty much irrelevant for now. Their 2019 chips seem like they can offer super budget more than good enough for gaming and medium work CPUs which if everything they promised in their presentation is true, would shift the market quite a bit IMO. AMD and intel would NOT be able to compete with good enough chips that are 2-3x times cheaper at their current prices, though the sheep mentality of "it's more expensive for a reason" and "it gets 10% fps more so it's much better" will probably be a big problem in selling their CPUs.
1
+Shmozone well it shouldn't be, VIA is promising good enough, but much cheaper CPUs, that is always how prices drop massively in every market sphere if they are successful.
