@raycert07 extremely high power consumption? The fx 6300 consumes 65-70W, the FX 8350 consumes 110-120W... compare it to the i9 12900k that consumes upwards of 240-260W. And the IPC was more than good enough to play 99.99%(basically all games that weren't crappily optimized) of games with 60fps+ up until 2016 and afterward up to 2018-2019 with the exception of the most demanding games.

@raycert07 the chip you are talking about is the FX9590 and it was a limited production CPU made mostly to celebrate the overclocking record the fx 8350 made back in the day. And being beaten doesn't make you bad. The FX 6300 was 90$, the FX 8320 was 130$ and they played games with 60fps+ whereas for 90$ back in the day you couldn't get an i3... and there were good AM3+ motherboard for just 50-60$. FX 8320 + a good 970 motherboard were under 200$, from intel an i3 3240 + a good h77 board were 240-250$ FX 6300 + a cheap 970 board were 130-140$, the price of an i3 3240 on its own. And again the FX8320 and at the tiem fx6300 played games with 60fps+ that's what matters, not who is faster.
