Wyrdak 35% on the core and memory IS a near 35% performance improvement. The shader performance = core count * MHz. The bandwidth = memory clock speeds(MHz) * bus width * 4(if gddr5) or * 8(if GDDR5X)/ 8. The texel rate = core clock * texel maping units. The Pixel rate = core clock * the raster operating pipelines/units. So indeed it's a linear scale in performance when it comes to overclock.

your math is wrong dude, if the average OC is 1450Mhz from 1075MHz then that is a 35% increase in performance, but the average overclock for the gtx 980ti is 1250Mhz.

the RX 480 offers performance as good as the gtx 980.

Matthew Bauer well considering the gtx 1080 has the performance of 2x gtx 980s in SLI and that 2x RX 480s in CF slightly outperform the gtx 1080, then 1x RX 480 should be as good as an RX 480 should be as good as a gtx 980, also that CF was done in games with good CF/SLI scaling, near perfect should I say.

Razor Blazor Ashes is NOT AMD optimized, works well with amd gpus, because nvidia is too stubborn to add ACEs to their architecture.

Crimson Sunrise Nvidia currently has 76% of the market

correzzana1992 Well EVGA SC are only higher binned GPUs.
1
correzzana1992 the pcb has nothing to do with the binning

AMD can NOT optimize their drivers and cards properly for gameworks as it is closed source and Nvidia does NOT let them. Which is a normal move from competition stand point, but AMD always releases every software they have as open source for Nvidia to optimize their GPUs, but Nvidia does NOT have Asynchronous Compute engines in pascal, which is really a good performance boost in DX12.

with DX12 and Vulkan multi-GPU configs are having a bright future.
