I can't be the only person whose main problem is lack of compatibility. I'm yet to meet a woman who has similar values, world views, interests and hobbies and lifestyle as me. Remove sex and kids. Why be with a person that you have nothing in common with? What do you talk about? What do you do together? How do your lives progress together? Now I'm sure there are such women, but they seem to be very rare and I sure haven't met one.

@katiemylady76 I never go to clubs(only on birthdays, namedays and such). I only go to bars with friends. A big problem is that there are no good 3rd places left to be out in my city and in the capital, where I've lived and will soon live in again, everything is paid. I usually go to conventions, play sports(basketball, football), hike, biking, play guitar, got into bowling recently. I also play video games and and am a movie buff and go to conventions. I also like swimming, climbing and airsoft, but don't have the chance to do those often. That's where I meet most of the people and it's true that the vast majority are men. I also go to the gym(and have for 2.5 years) which is again majority men and women are usually old aunties keeping in shape. Plus I don't think it's appropriate to hit on women in the gym. I don't go there to be flirted with, so I act like I would like to be acted towards. I'm a programmer, so you guessed it, vast majority men yet again. That's where the problem lies. My interests do not align with women, as seen by the fact that what I like to do surrounds me with men and very few to no women. And that's not even touching on values and world views.

@Vladi2102 yes, values and morals are first, but you also need to have a little bit of common interests and life style. And of course there is personal time and I'm not searching for a female version of myself.

@een2158 I can have a conversation no problem, but it's rarely anything I'm interested in. Usually it's TV shows, social media(which I lack), what some famous person did, traveling, what she window shopped, fashion and whatever is trendy at the moment. We also never get to do anything together, no actual activity. And it's not just hobbies and activities, but also values and world views. If she doesn't want to have kids before we get old(much before 30), or to live a more physically active life and a life outside the big annoying cities for example. I've had a few that even laughed at those ideas.

@rjmunster9600 I do go out, but in a small town there aren't many young adults left, and again I don't go to bars and clubs, which is all there is here, outside of gyms, cafes and sport fields. And nobody said it wasn't a me issue.

And I'm pretty sure I've done most easily and not so easily accessible activities out there, outside of extreme-ish sports, which aren't accessible, but I want to learn and try. But I'm always open for suggestions and will do anything that doesn't involve getting wasted and dancing...

@darrenbaxter9980 Also 30 years ago isn't today. My grandpa and grandma had very few things in common, but they enjoyed their company and were together. And my grandma was a doctor, my grandpa at the time had barely started working. They were together until he passed away for over 50 years.

@tulegenov7431 I have over half a dozen female cousins, I've done all the shopping, fashion, photography, dancing, growing flowers(and beans and such), sewing, badminton, pottery. I don't mind most(dancing and shopping isn't for me at all, neither is traveling), but they are not things I look forward to, I wouldn't do them myself. I do like handball though. I'm always open for activities.

@nurtaytulegenov7431 I don't think my standards can go any lower. Looks wise I want an average woman. But any relationship be it friends, or life partner, has to be based on common values, views and in this case life style as well, along with at least a couple common interests. That's as basic as it gets, correct me if I'm wrong.

@darrenbaxter9980 Relationships based purely on physical attraction and no compatibility don't tend to work out most of the time. The butterflies fade and after that it falls apart. Or worse you had kids and now it gets complicated.

@ato96 Yep, it's hard. From what I've read, online dating should be the way to go for women, since the vast majority of app users are men, so you can pick and choose.(Haven't used one myself, I like irl interactions, not online ones) But if you want an early bird, gymrat, sober, who isn't deep into politics, go early to the gym, I know cuz I am one. Still flirting in the gym isn't the best, but that's your best bet. But IDK what you mean by plant-based.

@skatetrooper5285 Since I've lived in the capital and in my home town, you are absolutely correct, the culture is actually different, but at the same time the culture in the capital is very degenerate, while in my home town people from the ages of 18-35 have left to go abroad or to bigger cities.

@chrisknight880 Up to the age of 15-16 or so(10 years ago), girls were absolutely willing to do many more activities. Play different games, even some sports, go on hikes, etc, etc. After that they pretty much thought of it as either lame or "man hobbies" and with time they ended up with very few hobbies. Again that's not all women, but seriously it can't be every woman I meet if it wasn't common... But it wasn't just girls, women were more up to it. I have a dozen female cousins most of which older than me or the same age as me and I saw the change in them too... I have no freaking idea what happened. While guys either remained the same, or the desperate for relationships(or sex) ones became the same, since they tried to force being relatable to women/girls, while hiding the few hobbies they still have/had.

@xg2513 Sadly that's the case. And I too still haven't found someone I'm compatible with, starting to wonder if I ever will. If I and a few of my friends were gay I think I'd be set, because I have a few very good friends, that I've been friends with for 10-20 years with, that share most of my values and world views, along with common interests and lifestyles. When it comes to monogamy, I don't think it's a huge issue in my country yet, but year after year, it seems like casual relationships are replacing monogamous ones.

@nurtaytulegenov7431 True, but I don't trust another person to be in a relationship based on mutual agreement of fulfilling our duties to one another and as parents to kids. Hell I slightly don't trust myself too. Also by the time most women want kids, I don't want to have kids, If I don't have kids by 27 I won't have kids. I have old parents and it has sucked so much ever since I was a teen.

@anneb889 I absolutely agree that values and world views are more important than common interests. Sadly whatever I do it seems it's always 90% men and the women are usually their girlfriends or older. My town is getting emptier and emptier, hell there are barely any people 19-35 left in general. My youngest colleagues in my current job are over 40 years old, though I'm getting a new job in the capital and moving there, so I hope there are more young people. And I want a couple common interests, not everything, but yes at least one. Also I'm not on a bowling team, there are no bowling teams sadly, since it's not as popular as in the USA. We have just 1 bowling joint in my city. I swear women don't like sports and physical activity. Now I know this is false, but even in co-operative sports there are barely any from my experience.

@anneb889 Thank you kindly. I have no social media outside of youtube, so IDK, I've been thinking about making some, but I never get to it. I'd say thins were less complicated 8 years ago as well, IDK where things turned south and why everyone started migrating and centralizing. I too prefer small towns, mine is 60k people, but I thought I'd live in my grandparent's town when I was younger(which was around 5000 people), but everyone young ran away from there as well due to there being almost no jobs. I value my health and I don't drink, smoke or anything of that sort, either. But there are illnesses that come with age no matter what. Seeing my family and my extended family, nobody has been healthy past 40, even if they are in good shape and don't abuse their body.(Now they are functional, but there are organ problems, hormone problems and other). I would be worried if I had a daughter too... especially with online apps. There are terrible men out there, I know some(from back in high school and university). They are charismatic and manipulative... they pretty much use and discard women as they please... Sure these types are rare, but they are the ones that get a lot of the attention. One of them is enough to break the hearts of dozens of women. Yes life is meaningless without children. I used to think I didn't want kids when I was in high school, but after living for a while, I find it that anything I do would be pointless if I don't have kids. I've enjoyed life enough, sure I haven't done many things, but those are trivial and unimportant to life. I wish you great health and the best of luck as well.

@Jesei1211 Yup, I'm yet to see a successful long distance relationship and I know 5 of which. Of course those aren't a lot, but LDR are rare too.

@thekindredstoil True, I have moved into the capital since I posted the original comment and in the past month I've been out 6/7 days of the week, but so far all the places that I've gone have been 99-100% men(not exactly 99%, but you get the point), not counting the gym, but I don't go to the gym to be flirted with so I don't bother people either. But I will keep trying and try finding other places to go, hobby places seem like bad places. So far I went wall climbing, board games club, karting, airsoft, retro game bar, a bar with billiards, ping pong and darts, climbed a mountain, hiking, cinema, a concert and to a few restaurants.

@gailainsley6939 Of course it goes both ways, but many people get together based on attraction or/and because they thought the other person is cool and such. I don't do that.

I'm indeed picky, not just about a partner, but with the friends and acquaintances I have too, but obviously that approach isn't working when it comes to finding a partner, so may I ask what is it that you look for in a partner, as a guideline for myself?
