  1. Why are so many people complaining about the CVT? I rented an Altima, approximately 2 years ago. It had a CVT. It felt different, but it was very good. When accelerating, the car just kept pulling, with no sensation of shifting. It felt like it was always in its sweet spot. I was happy to not feel shift after shift after shift. So why are others unhappy with this? Is it human nature to shun change; to stay with what feels familiar? As long as the CVT is reliable, and does not compromise performance, then what is the problem? A few days ago, I test drove a 2020 Altima, with CVT, and it gave phony shifting queues. That was not good (to me). It defeats the purpose of how a CVT feels; to get away from the constant shifting kicks.
