At my last job, I often used Windows' Remote Desktop, precisely because the remote machine would remain locked. I often needed to use the PC in my office for work that should not be viewed by others. But if I was not there, I could not know if anyone could see my screen. With Remote Desktop, that was not a problem. I got to do work, as if I was sitting in my office, with full access to their network from that PC, with no worries about anyone seeing my screen. For screen sharing, I use Quick Assist. It works great. But there are a few drawbacks: 1) It will work only between two Windows 10 (or higher) OS's. 2) The helper must have a Microsoft account. 3) The remote computer (needing the assistance) needs to be present to grant permission. This is fine for security reasons. But Quick Assist is useless if no one is at the remote machine. Remmina sounds great, especially for non Windows OS's.
