That line is what does not sit well with audiences, modern or otherwise, because our host just surrendered to the small but noisy, radical leftist, social justice warriors. Those shows were hits. Those shows would be hits, today, if they first aired today. Once you filter out the few insignificant "everything offends me" babies, these shows would be watched and enjoyed by countless millions. Most (perhaps all) still air as re-runs. Yet our host proclaimed otherwise. Not good. Bad shows do not show re-runs for decades. One reason for those shows still being in demand, is due to the dearth of new edgy shows. Our host should grow a spine, and not make excuses for each scene. Her excuse after excuse is her weakness. Or perhaps our host is a social justice warrior?
