The rest was floored, it should if been a timed lap from a standing start - the GR wins everytime in that real world scenario. On a flying start the CTR was already carrying so much speed, which is where it made up the 0.7 seconds it needed, plus the timing was inaccurate. Please go and research what makes the GR so individual, you will be surprised

  4. @Paul Blackman comparing an A5 convertible to a GR Yaris is nuts - they are poles apart. Anyone buying or driving an A5 convertible has no interest in cars whatsoever! The GR is an enthusiasts car, the A5 is pretty much as dull as it gets!

  10.  @MikeRoss-je2zt  the GR also beat a GTR Nismo around the same track. These cars were built for the track / fast road - the GR is an homologation rally car. How would the M4 get on if it was a lap of a gravel / rally stage - I think we all know the answer! This was also run in dry warm conditions to suit the M4, run it in cold wet conditions (like most of the year in the UK) and again I think we all know the result. Just like the GTR Nismo, the M4 is not comparable to an GR yet its competitive

A flying start gave the CTR an artificial head start, by taking away its weakness (its start / 0-60) it was given an advantage! The GR has AWD which makes it ferocious from a start (that was taken away from it). From a standing Start the GR would of completed the lap quicker than anything!

  17. It was a poor test. Should of been a standing start and carried out by a pro driver. In that situation the GR would win every time, its advantage from a standing start is huge and more realistic in the real world driving environment. 0-60 the GR destroys all of these by quite some way, even more so when its wet

Stranding start and accurate timing the GR wins. The longer the track the bigger the gap between the cars. Nurburgring wet day, how much quicker is the GR over the Fiesta - 1 minute plus, possibly 2 minutes!

Also agree that the GR is the best drivers car, whilst it costs more than the Fiesta is has every right too given the specialist nature of the product. I collected mine 2 weeks ago after a 7 month wait - July is a long way off but it's well worth it - congrats 👍

Price is irrelevant if you can afford it. And yes, I've driven the Fiesta, personally do not like the look of them, and it didn't offer anything other than being a sporty Fiesta which to me was not very special or very exciting.

You keep mentioned mass produced suped up family cars - they are not an the level of a GR.

For the british roads there is barely a better car out there than the GR, unlimited grip, useable performance, tuning potential and a true rally car for the road. You are still missing the point of the GR - it's a toy, it's not meant to be a daily or a family car, buyers like me have it in there garage to have some fun with. You need to give it up now and accept that some people can have what they want, just work harder and perhaps one day you can have nice things. I visited the likes of New York, Antigua, St Lucia, St Thomas, St Kitts all in 2020 - not bad considering the lockdown's, sadly had to cancel a number other holidays! I have a GR, being one if the first UK customers to collect theirs! You do not have one, have not driven one and have likely not even seen one - keeping on dreaming sunshine!

The GR is set up as a 60:40 split in default, with the driver then able to select 30:70 or 50:50, then having 2 LSD's the car can send power to a specific wheel based on requirements. That is NOT a haldex system like you find in cars such as VAG group

Too many people, too many cars on a small island with poorly maintained, and often wet roads are not a good mix. The GR will destroy pretty much any big care with a big engine on a "typical UK road". If you are in the US the GR is not coming so no need to worry about them 😀
