  1. I would love to use virt/QEMU, but couldn't get bidirectional file sharing between host and guest to work at all without permission kerfuffle...

Detection and using was fine as far as I remember, but I couldn't for example save a file/folder in the guest machine and access the same file/folder in the host. Couldn't get bidirectional file sharing to work. At the time I came across several posts by others having the same challenge and for the life of me I couldn't find a solution
