  1. You are free to disagree. But Russia did invade Ukraine. Whoever invades first, is to blame. "provocation" is no valid reason to invade. Should I start beating people up, because they provoked me?

  9.  @prachetan2  Only if they attack me. I would call the police first. Also you can't compare individuals to countries. Invading another nation will cause harm to more than just the responsible parties, unlike the thief scenario. I would tell him to remove himself from my house, let him attempt to attack me, then retaliate. Also Ukraine didn't invade Russia. So your scenario makes no sense. If I can't call anyone for help. Than I let him prove first that he will attack me, I will try to dodge and retaliate accordingly.

  10.  @prachetan2  Not really. Ukraine would be invaded one way or the other, with or whitout NATO. Russia was been planning to invade since 2014, and only didn't do it sooner in 2020 was because of COVID and because China convinced them to wait. Using geopolitics as excuse to invade another nation is wrong.

Whomever invades is to blame. Russia invaded, no ifs or buts. Russia was the one who acted the most towards the war, thus the one most to blame.

If I can't prove that he attacked me, then I shouldn't attack first. As they should. Donbas separatists didn't cease fire. Russia withdrawing to their bases did nothing to solve the situation.
