i've never heard of retired people collecting bottles for refund money. i've seen plenty get jobs that they can still do but that's it. retired people get jobs as security guards a lot. the ones i talked to did it because they were bored and the extra money is nice. plus some of them didn't want to have to be around their wives all day long or at least that's what they told me. lol

welders make a lot of money in the USA too. my grandpa and two of my uncles did that for a living. my grandpa has just enough for most bills and medical expenses and that's it. one uncle died and the other one had to go on disability in his mid-50s because of the toll that welding had on his body. disability in the USA won't give you much and now they are trying to raise people's medical expenses since trump took over. if germany's pension system is like the USA's then it means that he must not have worked for that long as a welder. in the usa, you get a little bit taken out of your paycheck and that little bit goes to your pension when you retire. they call it social security. if you made a lot of money and always worked than you get a nice pension plan. if you didn't then i guess you're screwed.

in america, a lot of elderly men who are retired get jobs as security guards. the ones i talked to said that they were bored, the extra money was nice and it gave them a chance to get away from their wives. :D
