Tolik L. with as abusive and oppressive as stalin was, i would think that most people wouldn't have known whether to like or dislike him. that's usually how despotic dictators are seen by their victims. people are afraid to have a negative opinion of the and so they feign an indifferent and sometimes vulnerable attitude as though they need a strong protector because they can't protect themselves, anyways that's the psychology of people living under despotic dictatorships.

BigChiefWiggles V i studied a little bit about how the media manipulates the masses myself. you are right. throw away your tv, select what you specifically want to watch and engage in the comment sections with others who watched the same video and develop your mind.

Mark Evans i think that it is because there were probably a lot more russians and client states of their empire fighting for the nazis then what historians have reported. there was probably a coverup by stalin and the premiers that followed him to not want that kind of information going out not only to the world but to the russians and client states that they ruled. it's just a theory but it seems plausible and it would help to explain the 20 million (that's the number that i heard) deaths there. think about it. 20 million is an awful lot of people for the nazi german army to kill. they would've had to have some help there and the help i'm sure had plenty of fatalities too and when it is all over, you can count these ones in with the rest of the ones and tally the death toll to be around 20 million. its just a theory but it makes sense to me and it would be interesting to see some historians look into that one and see what they can find.

***** out here fascism is defined as a merger between the corporation and the state. if that is happening then we all have elements of fascism in our countries.

CovjekXX we need to all quit falling for the tricks of the nationalist propagandists and quit arguing with each other over which leader is better or more powerful. they are all corrupt, power hungry people out to achieve what they perceive glory for themselves. it has always been that way and it still is that way today. as simple peasants/citizens would should refrain from falling for these tricks that have been played for thousands of years and protest them by all of us being civil and friendly with each other. that will scare all of the world leaders that are power hungry.

Samdo123 why can't RT be a state run propaganda channel if it has headquarters in berlin and DC? that makes no sense at all. who owns it? putin owns it therefore that is who controls the media there. where they have expanded their headquarters doesn't matter one bit.

ಠ_ృ its harder to do when you live in a country with a tight control on the media and what people are allowed and not allowed to watch or read.

Vasting what does tumblr or feminists have to do with what he said or this whole video?

Europe 00 i can't see it happening in moscow any time soon. still i get the feeling that russians have a distorted view of people in the west though. i would assume that this distorted view comes form their media.
1
BigChiefWiggles V it comes from both medias then. the fact that it would shape their opinions of the west shows that they assume that we trust our media more so then we do. in psychology they call it "projection."

***** why do you think that there is "gay propaganda" in hollywood?

its possible that there are forces within the CIA that would like to do this but still they would know that they don't have the power to do it. what i think that a lot of americans would want is more open opposition to putin because too much popularity for a leader really scares americans and is seen as a red flag that opposition voices are being silenced and that goes directly against our ideals for having a functioning democracy and a progressive nation. the CIA wants weaker nations that do what the usa wants them to do. still the CIA doesn't have the power to get russia to divide amongst itself.

***** china under mao also experiences a famine that killed millions and millions of people. it wasn't an example of communism being a success. it was only after china progressively became more capitalistic that they started to finally thrive.

DaedalusHelius because the usa got what they wanted and that was the collapse of the soviet union and a move to a more open and freer russia. obviously the cold war wasn't as simple as previously thought.
1
BigChiefWiggles V yeah what are mentally ill people with good specified skills supposed to do when their jobs in the factories were sent over seas? they can't get hired to work in the service industry because they are seen as too weird. they fit in fine in an industry that didn't require them to be up to date on all of the social bullshit that goes on in a society.

Kristina Belova being nationalistic is a sign of being brainwashed. it is propaganda designed to deflect attention off of the corrupt things that the leaders are doing as well as get you pumped up to blindly support an unnecessary and unjust war. history has shown this over and over again. also the fact that your media is so tightly controlled is a sign of a despot.
1
Kristina Belova what kind of job did you get?

Владимир Путин there are very few people here in the usa that are fanatical about obama. that is also true of every american president since franklin roosevelt. its the way we are and we see something suspicious about a world leader with the approval rating that putin has.
